PC Mag Reviews SOS Online Backup’s Newest Home Edition : SOS Vs Mozy Vs Carbonite

PC Mag keeps their reviews simple, concise, and clean – we here at SOS appreciate that. PC Mag published its review of SOS Online Backup’s newest home edition yesterday, with this glowing assessment:

SOS Online Backup may be the very best way to protect your precious personal data, storing secure versions offsite. Now it’s faster than the competition, and Facebook backup and good iPhone and Android apps are worthy plusses.

Thanks PC Mag! You can read the entire review here.

PC Mag even tested out our speed:

SOS claims faster performance in this version, and my testing bore this out. I backed up just under 10GB of documents, photos, music, and more—5712 files in all. The backup started at 6:10 p.m. and completed the next morning at 12:38 a.m.—just 6 hours and 28 minutes, over an admittedly fast corporate Internet connection. SOS claims it now allows up to 5Mbit/sec transfers and has done testing showing that a job that took 23 and a half hours in SOS took more than 33 hours for Mozy, and more than 56 hours with Carbonite.

PC Mag knows us well, they sum up the review by reminding us all “Save yourself with SOS”.

With its intuitive and well-though-out interface, reasonable price covering five PCs, Live Protect, versioning, top performance and many more unique capabilities, SOS Online Backup Home Edition remains our Editors’ Choice for personal online backup, and continues to add to its lead. If you just need to protect one PC with unlimited lot more storage, you may be happier with an unlimited competitor like Carbonite, but you’ll miss out on a lot of very useful tools and faster speed SOS offers.
